Flowers, leaves, and herbs are sourced locally from my garden and roadside wanderings, with additional hydrangeas and select exotic blooms sourced from trusted florists in other states.

This thoughtful approach allows me to create one-of-a-kind pressed floral artwork that is both distinctive and sustainable.

Hi! I’m Dede

🌿My work is rooted in Oshibana, the traditional Japanese art of pressing flowers to preserve their natural beauty. Each piece begins with real blooms—carefully pressed, arranged, and composed by hand—allowing the flowers to tell their story long after their season has passed.

I pair these preserved botanicals with vintage and repurposed frames and fabrics, sourced slowly and intentionally. I’m drawn to materials with history—textiles that have lived a life, frames that show gentle wear—because they bring depth and character to the finished piece. No two materials are ever the same, which means every artwork is truly one of a kind.

My journey into oshibana began unexpectedly on a hot day in June, when we lost power at my house. I’m not one to sit still, and I had been pressing flowers from my garden for months. Out of boredom, I decided to “organize” them. As I began laying the botanicals out, I realized a few stems looked like chicken legs, and some yellow leaves were the exact color of Butterscotch—my chicken, and the unlikely muse behind my first piece.

That afternoon, I created a pressed-flower portrait of Butterscotch, and in that moment, everything clicked. What started as a way to pass the time quickly became a creative practice rooted in curiosity, play, and a deep appreciation for the natural world. The rest, as they say, is history.

By day, I’m a full-time Realtor in Arizona, and I genuinely love working with buyers and sellers. In my free time, you’ll usually find me on my mini farm or in the garden, surrounded by animals, flowers, and the quiet rhythms of nature that continue to inspire my work.

Each piece I create is original, thoughtfully composed, and impossible to replicate. These are not mass-produced works, but collected moments—pressed, framed, and preserved.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

Each piece is hand-signed, named, and wax-sealed.

The Chicken That Started It All...

Everyone adored Miss Butterscotch.

She was more than just a chicken—she was the spark of inspiration for my very first art piece. Her quirky personality and warm spirit left an indelible mark on me.

Sadly, Miss Butterscotch passed in 2025, and I miss her dearly. Her memory lives on, not only in my heart but in the art she inspired, reminding me every day of the joy and beauty she brought into my life.

Mint leaves are hand-picked from my Arizona garden and slowly pressed over several weeks. This patient process preserves their delicate structure and natural color, allowing each leaf to become a quiet, lasting element within the artwork.

This one-of-a-kind floral piece even caught the attention of Frosty the Snowman at a holiday event—proof that flowers aren’t just for spring.
